Locations : Road leading to the main market of Sector 6, from the main road dividing Sectors 6 and 7
Description : The picture shows the monstrous ” Vehicle Halting” pothole, with a depth of about 6 inches ( a little less than the ground clearnace of various cars).Even a person crossing it at a slow speed of 20km/h experiences a rude, head banging shock(I crossed it in a maruti Zen at about 30 km/h and it felt as if the car had blown apart… and ofcourse, the axle got damaged!)
This whole road is cramped with potholes. The average speed on this road is 15km/h with halts every 5 seconds. Thus there are no speed checks or monitoring traffic police on this road!

]]>Location : Outside House No.87 and 66 , Sector 6, Panchkula.
Description : The terrible state of the road can be seen in the picture. The huge pothole is covering most of the width of this part of the road.It stays filled with water throughout the year round (as there seems to be a water pipe under it which maybe has developed cracks! )
The road is highly traversed by the residents of our sector and the commuters have a trouble everytime they reach this part of the road.
Not only this , the wole length of this road is filled with potholes of all kinds of shapes and sizes.
The only plus point of these potholes is – The drivers need to drive at a snails pace!!!

Roads in the area are all worn out. Road signs are missing here. Vehicular traffic is badly affected. The potholes in the roads are a big problem for those walking on them.
There are small stretches of open parks which have been maintained by the residents themselves. The parks have only patches of green grass and the dry soil leads to dust every where.
The sector is one of the major entry points for traffic from Punjab through Mohali. This portion witnesses traffic of heavy vehicles.
Another major problem in this residential area is the theft of manhole covers. Dozens of them have been stolen. “The residential quarters here are surrounded by a slum and there are no gates to check the entry of the outsiders. We are requesting the administration to construct gates at the entry points, which can be closed at least during the nights, Mr Manohar Kumar Garg, president of the Joint Action Committee of the sector, said.
Mr V.K. Bhardwaj, Chief Engineer, said the recarpeting of the roads would be done “in the very near future. The details of the project have already been worked out.
